DIRECT HIRE: Finance Manager General Ledger and Tax in La Crosse, WI

Referral Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Finance Manager General Ledger and Tax in La Crosse, WI. The salary range is around $80K DOE plus eligibility to participate in the company’s annual Incentive Compensation Plan.  Relocation may be offered to the right candidate.  This position has approximately 4-5 direct reports and have oversight of a team of 15.    

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Finance for GL & Tax, this position is responsible for oversight of the General Ledger and Tax team, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators and managing projects to improve efficiency throughout the finance organization.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of related experience, 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work with large amounts of computer data
  • Effective communication skills – oral, written and presentation
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley
  • Strong work ethic and proven ability to meet tight deadlines on multiple projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills -  Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • CPA Certificate strongly preferred

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

The duties will include overseeing the GL and tax compliance process.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of corporate accounting function.
  • Supervise and develop the existing accounting staff which includes hands-on involvement in the General Ledger, Cash, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory, etc. including ongoing performance reviews.
  • Timely monthly closings and financial statement preparation.
  • Preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations as part of month-end close.
  • Assist with external audit.
  • Assist FP&A and/or operating divisions with the investigation of unusual and/or significant items.
  • Organize and lead special projects.
  • Assist in acquisition due diligence and integration.
  • Proactively address tax exposure. Lead tax projects and audits.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
