Entry Level Handyman Service Worker – Madison, WI


We are seeking a hardworking candidate in the Dane County/Madison area.

Services for company include:
Site work, Grading, Excavating, Sewer & Water laterals, Storm Sewer, Roof Drain Piping, Pond Liner Installation, Shoreline Cleanup, Trucking, Snow Removal, Salt & Sand Spreading, Concrete Removal & Tear-out, Road Work, Parking Lot Installation & demolition, Hydrant Repair, Topsoil Delivery


We are looking for a laborer with strong mechanical skills.
An ideal candidate would have a CDL but we are open to hiring candidates with a reasonable driving record that would consider getting a CDL license.
You will have daily contact with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other trade professionals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
Requires valid DL and obtain a CDL within 1 month.
Electrical and welding experience with some construction/mechanical skills would be very helpful.
Must possess strong mechanical abilities and basic carpentry skills
Understanding and ability to adhere to safety standards
Good interpersonal communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, suppliers, and coworkers
Ability to make effective decisions on a timely basis
Ability to be patient and to meet established deadlines
Work effectively under pressure
Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimals and percentages).

Equipment Operated:
Utilizes a wide variety of tools including: hammer, circular saw, band saw, drill press, table saw, iron worker, hand brake, radial arm saw, grinders, shovel, stick welder, and wire welder.
Operates a crane, auger, hoist, bobcat, forklift, backhoe, and plow cat.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed largely in the outdoors with routine exposure to dirt, noise, temperature variance, chemicals, solvents, electricity and heights.

Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job.
Work hours are generally Monday – Friday – 7:00am-5:00pm, occasional Saturdays – 7:00am-2:00pm, with reasonable expectation of overtime.
There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.

Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive. Snow removal in winter months.
Will alternate walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, and bending throughout work shift.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
Requires near- and mid-range vision.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $15.00 – 20.00/hour
Required license or certification: Driver’s License (Prefer CDL)
