Are you a go-getter looking for installation technician work? We are seeking candidates in the Madison area seeking installation work â€“ We are looking for someone that isnâ€™t afraid of heights with strong mechanical skills. An ideal candidate would have a CDL but we are open to hiring candidates with a reasonable driving record that would consider working towards a CDL license.
In this position, you will work closely with the fabrication department and sales team to utilizing their individual expertise to ensure appropriate customer service is given. You will have daily contact with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other trade professionals. You will be responsible for preparation of site for sign installation and/or service of product and installing/servicing product according to contract specifications and customer satisfaction.
Somme of the primary duties include:
Review of project specifications and collection of necessary supplies and equipment for project. May need to communicate with Installation/Service Team Leader for various needs (scheduling, equipment, etc.). Loads necessary materials and equipment into Company vehicles.
Will travel to customersâ€™ sites and sets up equipment needed for product installation/service.
Prepares customersâ€™ sites for installation (may involve demolition of existing product).
Installs and/or services Company product for customers according to their specifications and established Company procedure.
Upon completion of project, professionally cleans up area.
Completes all paperwork related to the installation/service process according to established Company procedure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Requires valid DL and obtain a CDL within 6 months. Electrical and welding experience with some construction/mechanical skills would be very helpful. Must possess strong mechanical abilities and basic carpentry skills; understanding and ability to adhere to safety standards; good interpersonal communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, suppliers, and coworkers; ability to make effective decisions on a timely basis; ability to be patient and to meet established deadlines; work effectively under pressure. Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimals and percentages).
Utilizes a wide variety of tools including: hammer, circular saw, band saw, drill press, table saw, iron worker, hand brake, radial arm saw, grinders, post hole digger, shovel, stick welder, and wire welder. Operates a crane, auger, hoist, bobcat, forklift, backhoe, and plow cat.
Work is performed largely in the outdoors with routine exposure to dirt, noise, temperature variance, chemicals, solvents, electricity and heights. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 45 hours a week, with reasonable expectation of overtime. There will be
some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel by car/truck is required for business and education. Will regularly perform duties at heights of up to 20 feet, with occasional work at heights of up to 100 feet or more. Must hold a valid driverâ€™s license and be insurable to drive. Will alternate walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, and bending throughout work shift. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a daily basis. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Requires near- and mid-range vision.
